He Is Risen

The stone is rolled away from the empty tomb. Jesus' burial garments can be seen lying inside.

Easter is the cornerstone of our faith. It is not just a beautiful story or a hopeful message. It is the breathtaking truth that Jesus Christ, crucified and buried, rose again on the third day. It is the day that changed everything.

The resurrection is not an abstract idea or a symbolic gesture. It is the triumph of life over death, of light over darkness, of mercy over judgment. The empty tomb is more than a sign of hope. It is the foundation of it.

On Good Friday, we remembered the agony and the weight of the cross. We looked at the cost of sin and the depths of God’s love. Jesus, perfect and sinless, bore our guilt and shame. He took it willingly and completely. At the cross, He said, “It is finished,” and He meant it.

But the story did not end there.

On Sunday morning, the tomb was empty. The grave could not hold Him. The stone was rolled away not to let Jesus out, but to let us see in. What had looked like defeat was, in truth, the greatest victory the world has ever known.

The resurrection of Jesus is not just a past event. It is a present reality. It means that Christ is alive and at work in the world. It means our sins have been forgiven. It means death no longer has the final word. It means we do not walk alone. He is with us.

Easter is a call to remember and to rejoice. To remember the love that went to the cross and the power that walked out of the grave. And to rejoice that this same Jesus still calls us by name, just as He called Mary outside the tomb. He sees us. He knows us. He calls us to follow Him in the light of resurrection life.

Today, we give thanks. Not for a holiday or a season, but for a Savior who is alive. We lift our hearts in worship, in humility, and in awe. Because He lives, we have hope. Because He lives, we are never truly lost. Because He lives, we too shall rise.

He is risen. He is risen indeed.

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”

— John 11:25
